About SCIC Italia
Founded in 1948 in Parma, Italy, SCIC (Super Cucine Italiane Componibili) is a pioneering name in modular kitchen design. Originally a small carpentry workshop, SCIC transformed under the leadership of Renzo Fornari into one of Italy’s first industrial kitchen manufacturers — pairing elegance and innovation in a way that forever changed the industry.
In the 1960s, SCIC collaborated with famed graphic designer Franco Maria Ricci, who created the now-iconic hexagon logo — a symbol of modularity, symmetry, and refined Italian design. Over the decades, SCIC has remained at the forefront of craftsmanship, evolving its offerings while preserving its deep roots in artisanal tradition.
All SCIC kitchens and wardrobes are still made in Italy at a state-of-the-art 750,000 square foot facility in Parma. The factory is entirely solar-powered — a first in the Italian kitchen industry — and operates with a strong commitment to sustainability and responsible material sourcing.
SCIC’s pursuit of design excellence has led to prestigious collaborations, including exclusive licensing partnerships with Karl Lagerfeld Maison and Elie Saab Maison, blending the worlds of fashion, architecture, and interior design into collections that are as iconic as they are functional.
In a continued effort to preserve and elevate Italian design heritage, SCIC Italia recently acquired Schiffini, another historic Italian kitchen brand known for its clean lines and architectural minimalism. SCIC is actively investing in the revival and evolution of Schiffini, ensuring its legacy continues with renewed vision and integrity.
Now, through SCIC San Francisco, this rich Italian legacy is available in the Bay Area — offering access to exceptional design, unmatched quality, and a timeless sense of style.
